Leapmotor B10

The Leapmotor B10 is a rear-wheel-drive electric SUV that gives you either 380 km or 460 km of WLTP range, depending on which of its two variants you pick. WLTP is the European test cycle, and it usually lands closer to real-world results than the CLTC figures many Chinese EVs quote.

Both variants use the same 160 kW motor making 240 Nm at the rear wheels, so 0 to 100 km/h takes 8 seconds either way. What separates them is the battery: the Life gets 56.2 kWh, the Design 67.1 kWh. Both packs are LFP, or lithium iron phosphate, a chemistry that handles being charged to 100 percent regularly without much fuss. DC fast charging peaks at 140 kW on the Life and 168 kW on the Design, with a 30 to 80 percent top-up quoted at 34 minutes. On an 11 kW home charger, a full charge takes 6.8 hours for the Life and 8 hours for the Design.

At 4,515 mm long with a 2,735 mm wheelbase and 180 mm of ground clearance, the B10 sits in the mid-size bracket. Boot space is 420 litres, opening to 1,300 litres with the rear bench folded. Six airbags and the full L2 driver assistance suite are standard on both, so the Design's premium is spent on comfort: panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade, heated and ventilated front seats, 12 speakers and 64-colour ambient lighting.

Shangrila Motors distributes the B10 in Nepal, with prices from Rs. 49,99,000. The car carries the same B10 name in Europe and Australia, where Leapmotor sells through the Stellantis group.
