Wuling Mini EV

The Wuling Mini EV is a four-door electric city car that starts at Rs. 20,99,000, which puts it among the cheapest new cars of any kind on sale in Nepal. Sold internationally as the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, this is the fifth-generation version of one of China's best-selling small EVs, and it comes to Nepal through Paramount Motors.

Both variants use the same single 30 kW rear motor driving the rear wheels, producing 85 Nm and topping out at 101 km/h. What separates them is the battery. The Standard Range carries a 16.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate pack rated at 205 km, while the Long Range gets 25.1 kWh and 301 km. Those figures come from CLTC, the Chinese test cycle, which reads optimistically compared to real driving, so plan on meaningfully less once you factor in hills, air conditioning, and a full car.

Charging is where the Mini EV punches above its price. Both variants take DC fast charging and go from 30 to 80 percent in 35 minutes. On a home AC charger, a 20 to 100 percent fill takes 4.8 hours on the Standard Range and 7.2 hours on the Long Range.

At 3,268 mm long with a 4.5 m turning radius, it is built for stop-start traffic and tight parking. Four seats, a 170-litre boot and 838 litres with the rear bench folded make it usable rather than just small. Both variants get a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital cluster, dual airbags, stability control, traction control, hill hold, an electronic parking brake, auto hold, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX anchors.

Wuling Mini EV FAQs

  • What is the price of the Wuling Mini EV in Nepal?

The Standard Range is Rs. 20,99,000 and the Long Range is Rs. 22,99,000. Paramount Motors is the authorised distributor.

  • How much range does the Wuling Mini EV give?

The Standard Range is rated at 205 km and the Long Range at 301 km, both on the CLTC cycle. CLTC is a Chinese test standard measured in gentle conditions, so expect real-world range to land below these numbers, especially on hill roads or with the air conditioning running.

  • How long does the Wuling Mini EV take to charge?

On DC fast charging, both variants go from 30 to 80 percent in 35 minutes. On regular AC charging, a 20 to 100 percent top-up takes 4.8 hours for the Standard Range and 7.2 hours for the Long Range.

  • What is the difference between the Standard Range and Long Range variants?

The battery is the main difference: 16.2 kWh and 205 km versus 25.1 kWh and 301 km. Everything else is shared, including the 30 kW rear motor, the 10.1-inch touchscreen, the 7-inch digital cluster and the full safety list. The Long Range also charges slower on AC because it has more capacity to fill.

  • How many people does the Wuling Mini EV seat, and how much luggage fits?

It seats four across two rows with four doors. The boot holds 170 litres, expanding to 838 litres with the rear seats folded flat in a 50/50 split.
