Wuling Darion

The Wuling Darion is a seven-seat electric MPV with power sliding doors on both sides, brought to Nepal by Paramount Motors for Rs. 55,99,000. It is sold as the Wuling Cortez Darion EV in Indonesia and as the Wuling Starlight 730 in China.

At 4,910 mm long on a 2,910 mm wheelbase, it is built around the third row rather than treating it as an afterthought. The second row gets ventilated captain seats with electric adjustment, and both rear doors slide open electrically, which makes getting children or older passengers in and out far easier in tight parking than a hinged door.

A 69.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery feeds a single 150 kW front motor with 310 Nm of torque. LFP chemistry trades a little energy density for longer life and better heat tolerance. The claimed range is 445 km on the WLTP cycle, the stricter European standard, or 540 km on the Chinese CLTC cycle, so plan around the WLTP figure. DC fast charging runs through a CCS2 connector and takes the battery from 30 to 80 percent in 30 minutes.

Equipment runs well ahead of the price. You get six airbags, a 360-degree camera with a transparent chassis view that shows what is under the car, and a full Level 2 driver assistance suite with adaptive cruise, lane keeping, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, and rear cross-traffic alert. Inside, there is a 12.8-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital cluster, synthetic leather, an electric sunroof, a 50W wireless charger, and six speakers. The battery is covered for 8 years or 150,000 km; the motor for 6 years or 150,000 km.
