Maxus eTERRON 9

The Maxus eTERRON 9 is a fully electric double-cab pickup that pairs real 4WD capability with the cabin you'd expect from a premium SUV. Himalaya Motrox Pvt. Ltd. sells it in Nepal, with the Comfort variant starting at Rs. 88 lakh and the Premium at Rs. 1.28 crore.

Two motors, one on each axle, give you a combined 325 kW and 700 Nm, enough to reach 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. That same setup is what makes it useful once the tarmac ends. You get 260 mm of ground clearance, a 550 mm wading depth and an all-terrain mode that tunes the drive system for loose or slippery surfaces, which suits Nepal's hill roads well. It can tow up to 3,500 kg with a braked trailer, and beyond the load bed there's a 236-litre lockable front trunk under a power-opening hood.

The 102.2 kWh LFP battery (a chemistry known for durability and heat tolerance) is rated for 430 km on the WLTP test cycle. A 115 kW DC fast charger takes it from 20 to 80% in about 42 minutes, and at home it accepts 11 kW three-phase AC charging. V2L (vehicle-to-load) also lets you power tools or appliances straight from the battery.

The Comfort keeps double wishbone and multi-link suspension, cloth seats and a reversing camera. The Premium adds adjustable air suspension, a 360° camera, a full driver-assistance suite, heated, ventilated and massaging leather seats, and a panoramic sunroof. Both get twin 12.3-inch screens, a 5-year or 160,000 km vehicle warranty, and an 8-year or 200,000 km battery warranty.
