Rs. 47,99,000. It is distributed by SPG Automobiles, the sole Omoda and Jaecoo distributor for Nepal.
Despite the name, the J5 Pro is the cheaper car. It uses a 50.6 kWh battery for a claimed 405 km at Rs. 51,59,000, while the J5 uses a 58.9 kWh battery for a claimed 461 km at Rs. 54,99,000. Both share the same 155 kW motor, 288 Nm, body, suspension and equipment.
Jaecoo claims 405 km from the 50.6 kWh battery, measured on the NEDC cycle. Real-world range will be lower, particularly on hill roads and in cold weather.
A 130 kW DC fast charger takes it from 30 to 80 percent in roughly 28 minutes. Home charging runs at 6.6 kW on an AC wallbox.
It has 185 mm of ground clearance, a claimed 450 mm wading depth, multi-link rear suspension and hill descent control. Approach and departure angles are 20 and 29.8 degrees. It is front-wheel drive, so it suits broken tarmac and gravel rather than serious off-roading.
The battery is covered for 8 years or 180,000 km and the motor for 8 years or 160,000 km. SPG Automobiles offers an extension taking both to 11 years, up to 240,000 km on the battery and 200,000 km on the motor, subject to insurance and servicing conditions.
