Geely EX5

The Geely EX5, sold internationally as the Geely Galaxy E5, is a five-seat electric SUV brought to Nepal by LRR Motors Pvt. Ltd. It comes in two trims: the Pro at Rs. 61.99 lakh and the Max at Rs. 72.99 lakh.

Both trims share the same running gear. A 160 kW front motor makes 320 Nm and pulls the Pro from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, and the slightly heavier Max in 7.1. Energy comes from a 60.22 kWh lithium iron phosphate pack, a chemistry that trades a little energy density for better heat tolerance and a longer service life. Range is 430 km on the Pro and 425 km on the Max, measured on the WLTP cycle, a laboratory test that generally lands closer to real driving than the CLTC figures quoted for many Chinese EVs. A 100 kW DC charger takes the battery from 30 to 80 percent in 20 minutes; an 11 kW AC wallbox needs about six hours for a near-full charge. The car also supports V2L, meaning it can run mains appliances off its own battery.

The gap between the trims is equipment, not pace. The Pro gets 18-inch wheels, ventilated front seats, a 15.4-inch touchscreen, a heat pump, and cruise control. The Max adds 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a 13.8-inch head-up display, 16-speaker audio, massage seats, and the full driver-assistance suite: adaptive cruise, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, and blind spot monitoring, none of which the Pro carries. Both are rated five stars by Euro NCAP and ANCAP.

With 180 mm of ground clearance, multi-link rear suspension and a 461-litre boot that opens to 1,877 litres, the EX5 suits families splitting time between city streets and longer hill runs. Full trim-by-trim figures are in the variants table.
