Five Years After India Exit, GO Automobiles Plans New Ford Models for Nepal

GO Automobiles Pvt. Ltd., Ford's distributor in Nepal, says it will keep backing the brand in the country with after-sales support for existing owners and a growing range of international models. The statement comes five years after Ford ended vehicle manufacturing and sales in India.

Ford announced on September 9, 2021, that it would stop building and selling vehicles in India. The carmaker kept its after-sales network running for existing Indian customers, but the decision raised questions for markets such as Nepal, where much of Ford's earlier range, including models like the EcoSport and Figo, had been sourced from its Indian plants.

After-Sales Support

According to GO Automobiles, Ford owners in Nepal still have access to service facilities, genuine spare parts, technical expertise, and customer assistance. The company says it has continued to invest in its after-sales operations over the past five years so that Ford vehicles across the country remain properly supported.

The distributor describes its priority as maintaining long-term relationships with existing customers, not just selling new vehicles.

Current Lineup and Upcoming Models

Ford's current offering in Nepal is made up of international models: the Everest SUV, the Ranger pickup, and the performance-focused Ranger Raptor. GO Automobiles is also preparing to bring additional Ford models to Nepal, although it has not yet named the vehicles or given a launch timeline.

"Ford ownership is a journey," said Akash Golchha, Managing Director of GO Automobiles. He said the company sees its role as giving owners confidence long after the point of purchase, and that it intends to keep supporting every Ford customer in Nepal while introducing more of the brand's global products.

The announcement shows that Ford remains active in Nepal despite its withdrawal from India. Its near-term future in the market now rests on continued service support and the new models GO Automobiles has yet to reveal.
